JOIN PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON & 50 OTHERS AAPI LEADERS FOR A CONVERSATION ON BUSINESS MAY 26

We are so excited that President Bill Clinton will join a conversation on business and the economy at an AAPI Business and Professionals reception May 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in Washington D.C.  Please see the invitation below for this truly unique reception:

*  It is an extremely small event (about 60) with President Clinton, whom Hillary Clinton said Sunday would lead the re-vitalization of the US economy

*  The contribution level includes a photo opportunity with President Clinton for a limited number who sign up in the next few days

*  Because President Clinton is so open, there will be time to speak one on one in the photo receiving line.

The event is the day after Commerce’s first AAPI Business Summit May 25 and an AAPI Heritage month reception where reception attendees will have a chance to meet AAPI members of the US Senate and House.

With the international bashing and anti-immigrant and minorities stance being advanced by other candidates, Hillary Clinton represents a positive vision for America. But elections take a lot of resources, so I am inviting you to stand up now – before the Convention – and join other AAPI Business & Professionals for Hillary.  Her outstanding record speaks for itself – she led the pivot to Asia;  she was the first Secretary of State to make her inaugural visit to Asia including China, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia;  she headed a CEO delegation to ASEAN for the first US ASEAN Business Forum which included a trip to Burma as State led President Obama’s suspension of sanctions; and both her presidential campaigns have had more AAPI staffers than any other presidential candidate.  As successful business owners, global citizens and leaders of the AAPI community, we need  your support for the only candidate who has talked the talk and walked the walk in helping SMEs and the AAPI community.

Please join us in this important conversation with President Bill Clinton May 26 at 10 a.m.! To register, click https://www.hillaryclinton.com/events/tickets/E2OBSIEGXMU6T6MQ/?raiser=164153

Millennial Entrepreneur on why he supports Hillary for President

I grew up with my grandma, my mom, and my dad. We had modest means but were very happy together – my image of the perfect family was the four of us; that was all I ever knew. At 16, I lost my grandma suddenly and that was the first time I experienced an emptiness in my life. A year later, I lost my mom unexpectedly to cancer.  Devastated, lost, confused, and with just my dad left, I was watching my dreams of growing up in the perfect family disappear.

But this didn’t stop me. In my freshman year of college, I founded a nonprofit that helps marginalized immigrant families take their first step into the US healthcare system so that those who need it the most can get the care they need.  This was born from remembering how difficult it was when I lost my own loved ones to such devastating illnesses. I’ve been humbled to have provided a full range of medical, dental, mental health, social, and legal services to several thousand immigrants and counting. Learning from my experience, I then started a consulting business to help other young entrepreneurs and eventually, multi-million dollar enterprises, develop sustainable social impact ventures. At the same time, I finished college and graduate school and at age 24, secured a university faculty position teaching public service management to other aspiring public servants.

Even though it was difficult; even though I didn’t always have the resources I needed; even though the world was against me doubting how this college kid was going to run both a healthcare nonprofit and a consulting firm, I continued to persevere in the memory of my mom and grandma who both nurtured every dream I had. And I know Hillary will nurture America in the same way.  She will truly make this the land of opportunities for us. She will give us the resources; she will built up the infrastructure for us; she will believe in us: the millennials who want to make a difference. For someone who strives to make healthcare a basic human right for all Americans, I know Hillary will continue her fight from when she was First Lady and senator to reduce out of pocket costs and promote quality-driven care. With Hillary, I believe again that our government will help me chase my dreams, motivate me to work even harder to help those around us in need, and allow me to one day raise the family I’ve always wanted in a safer, happier, healthier world.

Hillary for America Announces AAPI Leadership Council

ProgressAAPI

Hillary for America announced the launch of its Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Hillary Leadership Council – a group of over 150 elected officials, community, and grassroots leaders who will help build a grassroots-driven volunteer team that will help Hillary Clinton engage, energize and organize support in the AAPI community ahead of the caucuses and primaries.

These officials are taking on leadership roles on the heels of the launch of AAPI for Hillary in San Gabriel, California, where Clinton was surrounded by leaders from the community and discussed what’s at stake for the AAPI community in this election.

Leadership Council members share Clinton’s commitment to raising wages for the middle class, strengthening our nation’s infrastructure to create good-paying jobs, defending and enhancing the Affordable Care Act, ensuring that cost is not a barrier for students going to college, reforming our broken immigration system and much more.
